Modi’s party leads Maharashtra State Opinions, Trails in Jharkhand

Prime minister Narendra Modi‘s ruling alliance is leading polls in Maharashtra by a wide margin, signaling political continuity in a state that is home to most of India’s billionaires and home to some of the country’s biggest investments.

The Mahayuti coalition, led by Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party, is ahead with 225 seats in the 288-member legislature, according to the Election Commission of India. The Indian National Congress-led alliance has the advantage of just 50 seats, halting momentum they built during national elections.
