Mavericks vs Nuggets preview, kickoff time, TV schedule and injury report

The Dallas Mavericks (8-7) are in Colorado again to play the Denver Nuggets (8-5). This game will be televised nationally on ESPN at 9:00 p.m. CST. Despite not having Luka Doncic, Dallas still has a good chance against a tough Nuggets team. Dallas is riding a three-game winning streak, while the Nuggets have just played the Memphis Grizzlies twice and split the games, winning the most recent one. Here are the most important things you need to know:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Denver Nuggets
  • WHAT: Hopefully beat a bad Pelicans team
  • WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
  • WHEN: 8:00 pm CST
  • HOW: ESPN, Channel 29, MavsTV and also Playback with Kirk, Matthew and David

Luka Doncic is back on the injury front, although he is missing games with a wrist injury this time. Dante Exum still needs time to recover from his surgery. All others are available for Mavericks. The Nuggets report is longer. Nikola Jokic is questionable for personal reasons and I have a feeling he will miss tonight’s game as well. Aaron Gordon, one of the league’s best defenders, is still out with a calf strain. Vlatko Cancar misses the game with a knee injury.

The Dallas schedule gets pretty soft after this contest, so it would be great to pick up a win against a very good Nuggets team. Here’s a longer preview if you need reading material. This week’s power rankings are here in case you missed them. David did a great post on judging recent Dallas performances. There is a good explanation for the NBA Cup situation. Finally, there is this week’s Mette column. I’m not even going to tease it because you should always read her!

As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I might not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I at Pod Maverick live after the match on YouTubewe were supposed to start around 23.45. Thank you so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s Go Mavs!
