Chris Pratt and wife Katherine Schwarzenegger welcome their third child together, and the name has a sweet nod to her great-uncle JFK

Chris Pratt and wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, have officially become parents of three as they welcomed their third child, a baby boy, into the world.

Schwarzenegger revealed the news on Monday that she gave birth to a son, named Ford Fitzgerald Pratt, on Friday, November 8.

“We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our son, Ford Fitzgerald Pratt,” she captioned the post. ‘Mother and baby are doing well and Ford’s siblings are thrilled with his arrival. We feel so blessed and grateful. Love Katherine and Chris,’ the couple wrote in a joint post.

The name is apparently a nod to the late former President John F. Kennedy, whose middle name was Fitzgerald.

The best-selling author, who is the daughter of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, is JFK’s great niece.

The Jurassic World actor, 45, and Katherine, 34, already share two daughters: Lyla, four, and Eloise, two. He is also father to son Jack, 12, who he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris.

DailyMail.com has reached out to both of their representatives, but has not heard back at this time.

Earlier this year in June, it was revealed that the author was expecting child number three – and the couple notably waited until the birth of their child to find out the gender.

During an interview d Today last month in October the topic of the baby’s gender came up and Pratt explained simply: ‘We don’t know. I have my son Jack and then the two girls. So we don’t know. We are waiting.’

But the actor added: ‘I have a feeling. I have an intuition but I won’t say what it is now in case I’m wrong and that kid sees this. One day child, you know. I knew it’.

After the baby news broke, Katherine was seen showing off her growing baby bump on various outings and on social media.

Back in July, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter flashed a cheerful smile as she flashed her burgeoning belly in a pair of hot pink gingham overalls.

Last week, both Chris and Katherine were spotted strolling together in Los Angeles – after the actor received backlash for sharing his views on the presidential election.

During the daytime outing, Schwarzenegger could be seen wearing a tight black bodysuit which showed off her baby bump.

Back in May, the Guardians Of The Galaxy star revealed the ‘big difference’ between raising his son and daughters as he opened up about parenting.

He had knocked over his children during an interview with E! News when he was promoting his animated film, The Garfield Movie.

‘I hate to make generalizations based on gender, but in my experience girls are more emotional. They have me wrapped around their finger. It’s crazy,’ Pratt told the magazine.

He added that both his son and daughters are ‘cute and cuddly’, but explained that his girls ‘don’t like going to a rough house’.

Chris said: ‘I hit them with a pillow and they say, “Dad, that hurt my feelings.” They like to hear stories more than they like to break.’

The star also explained that his daughters ‘look after their mother, who is incredibly organised’.

“But even the differences between my two daughters just show that every child is a little bit different.”

Pratt later explained why he enjoyed taking on his latest role as Garfield, stating that voice acting offers “the types of roles that allow me to be at home.”

‘It works well to have a job that allows me to put my children to bed at night and be present. Taking on voice work means it’s a film that I don’t have to be on the go.’

Pratt began dating Katherine in the summer of 2018, and the couple tied the knot the following year in June.

The first daughter, Lyla, was welcomed into the world in 2020, and their second baby girl was born in May 2022.

He was also previously married to actress Anna Faris from 2009 to 2018 – and the former couple share a son, Jack.

Over the past two Mother’s Day holidays, social media users pointed out that Chris had failed to give a shout-out to Faris.

Last year, the Passengers actor was branded ‘garbage’ and ‘the worst’ for leaving his ex-wife out of his Mother’s Day tribute.

It didn’t come long after he was embroiled in controversy for praising wife Katherine for giving him ‘a beautiful, healthy daughter’ after Eloise was born.

Some social media users speculated that his words were a dig at Anna Faris after their son, Jack, was born prematurely and struggled with medical conditions.

Pratt admitted that the backlash had triggered an emotional reaction from him. ‘It’s cursed. My son will read it one day. He is nine. And it is etched in digital stone,’ he said at the time.

Katherine has also opened up about motherhood and how she feels about asking for help while juggling parenthood and work.

During a lunch event last year, per People, she said: ‘I’m a big believer – I feel like on Instagram we see all these mums who are like, “I’m doing it all, I’m doing it all, I’m doing it all on my own,” blah-blah and I’m like, “I don’t want to do it all alone.”

‘I will lean on my sister, I will lean on my mother, I will lean on my girlfriends, my mother friends.’

Schwarzenegger added, “I want to be honest and transparent and also say, ‘I can’t do this today.’ My child is sick. She was up all night teething. I’m going to be a mom right now.”

‘So I think you can be open about not having to do it all, you can lean on people, you can get help from others and be okay with it.’

‘That, I feel, is such a big struggle for women in general, but I think especially if you’re balancing multiple roles, saying, “I need help today,” and that’s okay.’
