Lt. Austin Davis visited Adagio Health in Greensburg today to remind uninsured Pennsylvanians that Dec. 15 is the deadline to sign up for health coverage that begins Jan. 1, 2025. Over 430,000 Pennsylvanians have already found affordable, high-quality health coverage through Pennie. The open enrollment period is the only chance for individuals to secure coverage for 2025, with plans available to those who do not receive health insurance through their employer or programs such as Medicaid or Medicare. Due to recent changes in health plans in Western Pennsylvania, current customers are encouraged to review their options to ensure they choose the best plan for their needs.

Nine out of 10 Pennie customers qualify for financial assistance through tax credits, which can help lower monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs. All plans offered through Pennie cover essential services, such as hospital care, mental health services, prescriptions and maternity care.

While December 15 is the last day for coverage starting January 1, 2025, the open enrollment period continues until January 15, 2025. Plans purchased after December 15 will go into effect on February 1, 2025.

Pennie also works closely with Pennsylvania’s Medicaid program, offering a bridge for individuals who no longer qualify for Medicaid due to an increase in income. Those who lose Medicaid coverage should consider enrolling in a private plan through Pennie.
