Marnus Labuschagne struck on 46 runs from 93 balls as Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped a routine catch off him off Akash Deep’s bowling at gully. After Jaiswal provided a lifeline to the right-handed batter who has scored the most runs for Australia in the World Test Championship, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was seen losing his cool against the 23-year-old cricketer.

In a video that went viral on the internet, Rohit failed to hide his frustration after Jaiswal gave a lifeline to Labuschagne.

Here’s a look:

The incident occurred on the second ball of the 40th over of Australia’s second innings of the ongoing Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Labuschagne made the most of the reprieve and went on to score his second half-century of the match. The right-handed batsman will be crucial to Australia’s chances of winning the match, which is even at the moment.

The Aussies managed to take a decisive lead of 105 runs in the first innings, but Jasprit Bumrah led India’s fightback in the second innings by dismissing four batters for just 30 runs in 14 fours. Mohammed Siraj, who has not performed consistently in the ongoing series, also looks good on Sunday and has picked up two wickets so far.

Bumrah clean bowled Sam Konstas (8) in the morning session to open his wicket account and also complete 150 dismissals in the WTC. In the afternoon session, he picked up two wickets in one over to break the bone in Australia’s middle order. He first removed Travis Head for 1 (2 balls) and then four balls later dismissed Mitchell Marsh for a four-ball duck. And if that wasn’t enough, then on the last ball of his next over, he clean-bowled Alex Carey (2 runs from 7 balls).

Bumrah has picked up a total of 8 wickets in the ongoing match and 29 in the series so far. If he manages to take four more wickets, then he will break Harbhajan Singh’s record of taking most wickets in an India-Australia Test series.

The overall record for taking most wickets in a Test series for India is in the name of former spinner Bhagwath Chandrasekhar. During the India-England Test series in 1972-73, Bhagwath played five matches and dismissed 35 batters.
