Best, worst players from Week 15 win over Seahawks

The Green Bay Packers played what Pro Football Focus considered their best game of the 2024 season during Sunday night’s dominant 30-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.

The Packers, who led 14-0 and 20-3 in the first half, posted their best marks on offense, defense and overall this season.

The grades correlate well with the outcome: The Packers led by at least two points for the majority of the contest and were up 17 points when Geno Smith left in the third quarter. A final takeaway and touchdown secured a three-score victory for the visiting Packers.

Based on grades from Pro Football Focus, here are the best and worst players from the Packers’ Week 15 win over the Seahawks:

Top 5 offense

1. RT Zach Tom: 83.2
2. WR Romeo Doubs: 78.7
3. WR Dontayvion Wicks: 78.0
4. C Josh Myers: 76.1
5. WR Jayden Reed: 75.7

Tom gave up two hurries but earned an elite run blocking grade. Doubs made a contested catch and caught two touchdown passes. Wicks caught two passes, both of which generated first downs. Myers only gave up one rush and was good in the running game. Reed turned his eight touches into 61 yards — he got 44 after the catch and rushed three times for 27 yards.

Cooper produced three pressures (including a sack), four stops (including two tackles for loss) and two pass breakups (including an interception). Valentine had an interception, a pass breakup and two stops. Slaton had two stops against the run and drew a team penalty. Clark had five touchdowns, including a QB hit, plus a run stop. Stokes gave up just two completions for 10 yards over 44 coverage snaps.

Bottom 5 crime

Sims earned an average run blocking grade. Jacobs gained 80 yards on first down, but lost a fumble and averaged less than 4.0 yards per carry. carry. Rhyan gave up a team-high three pressures and had a false start penalty in the red zone. Love had a few bad throws, but overall played well. Walker earned the team’s highest pass-blocking grade, but was only OK in the run.

Walker gave up one catch in coverage and posted a low run defense grade over 22 snaps before leaving with an injury. Brooks delivered six pressures, but he missed a tackle and struggled against the run inside. Nixon gave up four catches on four targets and committed two penalties. Williams was credited with giving up two catches for 40 yards. Wooden had 12 pass rush opportunities but didn’t produce a pressure.

Special teams

Edgerrin Cooper had a pair of tackles covering kickoffs, but also missed a tackle on special teams. Robert Rochell had a tackle and punted inside the 10. The Packers did not have a penalty on special teams. Brandon McManus made all six kicks and had one tackle. Daniel Whelan had a punt downed inside the 10-yard line. Ben Sims earned an elite grade for his block on a kickoff return. Bo Melton also missed a tackle.

Quarterback game

Jordan Love: 66.9

Love completed 11 of 14 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown from clean pockets, completed nine of 13 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown under pressure and did not have a turnover. He had one pass knocked down and he scrambled once for four yards. On passes thrown over 20 yards, Love was 3-of-6 for 84 yards and a score — plus a big throw. However, he undershot a couple of deep balls and the passing game didn’t come together on a couple of intermediate attempts, including what should have been easy for Romeo Doubs.

State to know

Geno Smith was pressured on 10 of his 23 dropbacks, while Sam Howell was pressured on 12 of 19. Add them up – 22 pressured dropbacks on 42 attempts. This was a big performance from the Packers defensive front, which produced 34 total pressures.
