Live updates channel for week 16 games

game

College football is defined by rivalry and pageantry, with annual matchups between longtime foes standing as some of the biggest events on the sports calendar.

One of its biggest games will end the 2024 regular season.

The annual Army-Navy game takes place Saturday, with black knights and Midshipmen faces Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, home of the NFL’s Washington Commanders.

While the matchup is a source of intense interest nationally every year, this year’s meeting should be especially exciting.

Under coach Jeff Monken and behind star quarterback Bryson Daily, Army is 11-1 and ranked No. 18 lately US LBM Coaches Poll. The 11 wins are tied black knights‘ most ever in a season, which is no small feat for a program with three claimed national championships. They picked up their biggest win of the season last Friday, blowing past Tulane 35-14 in the American Athletic Conference championship game.

The Midshipmenmeanwhile, enter the game with an 8-3 record, a significant improvement after finishing 5-7 in coach Brian Newberry’s first season. However, after a 6-0 start, Navy has lost three of its last five games.

If nothing else, the game should provide some excitement. Of the 10 previous Army-Navy Games, eight have been decided by one score, including last season’s 17-11 Army victory in Foxborough, Massachusetts. After Navy’s 14-game streak in the series was snapped in 2016, the Black Knights have won six of the last eight meetings.
