CLEMSON, South Carolina – Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell isn’t sure Penny Hardaway’s Memphis Tigers will be any hungrier to win Saturday just because they lost to Arkansas State last week.

“I can’t imagine they wouldn’t be ready to play at Clemson anyway,” Brownell told The Commercial Appeal this week. “You respect what Penny does, you look at their schedule, they play all kinds of good teams. They have a lot of pride in their program and what they’ve accomplished — and we’re the same.”

Prior to slipping up last week, Memphis was ranked No. 16 in the country, winning seven of its first eight games. The Tigers (7-2) were taken out of the national rankings in short order this week.

Meanwhile, moved no. 16 Clemson into the top 25 after a home win over no. 5 Kentucky and a road win against Miami.
