CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) -Rain, snow and ice are on the radar this morning, causing treacherous road conditions throughout the region.

Dangerous journey through the afternoon

The Ice Storm Warning has been expanded and now includes most of eastern Iowa and extends as far north as Fayette and Clayton Counties. The rain, snow and ice are now expected to continue through the afternoon and continue into the evening. Therefore, expect dangerous road conditions throughout Saturday. If you are going to drive today, be very careful, don’t leave without a full tank of gas and an emergency kit. Precipitation will gradually build and end early tonight, leaving mostly cloudy skies. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid to upper 30s with evening lows cooling to the low to mid 30s.

Sunday will be much quieter with fog in the morning and mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Highs on Sunday will reach the low 40s. Sunday night and Monday morning we could see some light rain showers.
