You can now catch Pokémon inside McDonald’s locations around the US

McDonald’s just got a lot more exciting for Pokémon Go players.

On Thursday, the official Pokemon Go website revealed its new partnership with McDonald’s, which gives trainers new places to explore and capture their favorite characters.

“We are pleased to announce a partnership between Pokémon GO and McDonald’s in the United States,” the announcement reads. “As part of this collaboration, trainers will be able to visit sponsored PokéStops or gyms when they visit McDonald’s restaurants in the US”

Trainers, it added, can visit participating McDonald’s locations during specific weeks throughout December to “encounter Pokémon attracted to lure modules at McDonald’s PokéStops and participate in five-star raids at McDonald’s Gyms.” (If you are unfamiliar with the concept of a Pokémon Gym, website explained (that Gyms are “places found all over the world where you can battle rival teams’ Pokémon,” making it a true community affair.)

The announcement added that Lure Modules and Raid Battles will be active from 18:00 to 19:00 local time each day for the following weeks:

  • Monday 16 December to Sunday 22 December 2024
  • Monday 20 January to Sunday 26 January 2025
  • Monday 10 February to Sunday 16 February 2025
  • Monday 10 March to Sunday 16 March 2025

Of course, while you’re there, you can always grab a meal with your fellow trainers. And if you visit during those 2025 dates, you might get lucky and be able to score a Snack Wrap, which McDonald’s announced will make its big return sometime in 2025 — though no one is quite sure when exactly that will be back as McDonald’s only mention of its return was in a cryptic Instagram post with the text “snack wraps xx.xx.2025” and the caption “can’t believe I just posted this.” Still, we’ll take it.

The Pokémon Go team also added that it is crucial for follow it on social media for game updates, along with another warning in its message: “Please be aware of your surroundings and follow guidelines from local health authorities when playing Pokémon GO.” You don’t want to accidentally run into the fryer while trying to catch them all, do you?
