‘Malcolm In The Middle’ reboot coming to Disney+

Malcolm in the middlewhich defined the dysfunctional TV sitcom family, will be rebooted for four new episodes on Disney+ at an undisclosed date in 2025. The new episodes, which originally aired on Fox from 2000 to 2006, will feature the return of original cast members Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, a child prodigy, and Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek as his parents Hal and Lois.

There is no word at press time if any of the other actors from Malcolm in the middle returns to reboot.

In the original single camera Malcolm in the middlefocused on the young genius Malcolm as he tried to navigate life with his quirky, often difficult family. In this limited revival, Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into family chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.

With Linwood Boomer and the creative team at the helm these new episodes will have all the laughs, pranks and mayhem that fans loved – along with a few surprises that remind us why this show is so timeless.”

Linwood Boomer created the original series and returns as writer and executive producer. Bryan Cranston, Tracy Katsky (KatCo), Gail Berman and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann are executive producers. Ken Kwapis will direct all four episodes and executive produce. The limited series is produced by 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios, and New Regency.
