Everyone’s favorite serial killer is back for a new series – and this time we’re going to delve into his angsty younger years.

“Dexter: Original Sin” premieres this month and explores Dexter Morgan’s earlier years and his evolving bloodlust. Starring Patrick Gibson as a young Dexter (originally played in his older form by Michael C. Hall on the 2006-2013 “Dexter” series), the show is set in 1991 Miami, where we see Dexter living with his sister Debra (Molly Brown). , played by Jennifer Carpenter in the original series) and Harry, Dexter’s adoptive father and homicide detective (Christian Slater, originally James Remar) in what at first appears to be typical domestic bliss.

However, as the series continues, viewers will see Dexter’s descent into his serial killer ways.

Fans can also expect to see the characters involved return both on screen and behind the scenes, including police officer Angel Batista (James Martinez) and original executive producer and writer Clyde Phillips.

Dexter’s runaway popularity has spurred spinoff series, including the limited series “Dexter: New Blood” and the upcoming “Dexter: Resurrection.”
