The Game Awards have come and gone, and the showcase brought everything from The Witcher 4, to Elden Ring updates, to, um, Harrison Ford.

The show was packed with big reveals, but one was perhaps the most anticipated of them all. Grand Theft Auto fans have been desperate for a fresh look at the series’ sixth entry after more than a year since the first trailer.

Did it show up? Unfortunately no, with Rockstar again keeping very quiet.

Will GTA 6 be 2025 after all?

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a peep about Grand Theft Auto 6 at this year’s show, with Rockstar once again keeping to themselves when it comes to revealing new content. However, the game was awarded at the exhibition by winning the title of Most Anticipated Game.

The studio has almost always revealed updates when it chooses to do so, not at third-party events, so this might not be a surprise – but the GTA subreddit and social media are still up for grabs.

Will people start looking for more clues? You know – fans have already looked at moon phases in GTA Online, but a former Rockstar developer has suggested that the team behind GTA will ‘nerd’ over fan theories.

With suggestions that the new release could be pushed back to 2026, there’s every chance Rockstar will commit to a date in the next trailer. Other publishers will certainly be hoping that’s the case as they’re reportedly looking to stay out of Rockstar’s way in 2025.
