Naughty dog has announced his latest project: Intergalactic: The Heretical Propheta science fiction adventure that exclusively comes to PlayStation 5. The Intergalactic will be the fifth franchise to come from the studio, which previously worked on Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Unchartedand The Last of Us.
The game follows Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on the mysterious planet Sempiria, where no one has escaped orbit for over 600 years. The announcement trailer, revealed during The Game Awards 2024, showed a futuristic landscape with protagonist Jordan, played by actress Tati Gabrielle, navigating a retro-futuristic spaceship.

The game’s narrative centers on Jordan’s struggle to survive and potentially become the first person to leave Sempiria in centuries. With a setting that evokes comparisons to anime-like Cowboy Bebopthe title aims to create a unique sci-fi experience. Music legends Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will compose the game’s soundtrack. The star-studded cast also includes comedian Kumail Nanjiani in a cameo.
The development team, led by studio head Neil Druckmann, has been working on the project since 2020. The game promises to deliver what Naughty Dog describes as its “deepest gameplay in history,” blending the studio’s renowned narrative depth with innovative game mechanics. While an exact release date remains unannounced, the game is confirmed for PlayStation 5.
