Taylor Swift Says She’ll ‘Be Flower Girl’ For Selena Gomez As Famous Friends Celebrate Her Engagement To Benny Blanco

Taylor Swift is already planning his engagement to longtime friend Selena Gomez‘s wedding to Benny Blanco!

On Wednesday, December 11, Gomez, 32, announced that she and Blanco, 36, were engaged with a sweet Instagram post, and Swift, 34, made sure to share her excitement in the comments section.

“Yes, I want to be the flower girl,” the pop superstar wrote.

Gomez confirmed her and Blanco’s engagement by sharing several snaps; including a close-up of her pear-shaped diamond ring, a selfie of herself beaming as she shows fans the jewelry, as well as a sweet shot of Blanco kissing his wife-to-be as she smiled and held up her hand.

Another photo showed Gomez admiring her ring while sitting on a picnic blanket with a Taco Bell box by her side.

“Forever begins now..” it Only murder in the building star captions the post.

Blanco responded in the comments, “hey wait… that’s my wife.”

Swift has been friends with Gomez since they both dated a Jonas brother back in 2008 (she was to see Joe Jonas while Gomez was linked to Nick Jonas).

The “Fortnight” hitmaker wasn’t the only celebrity to send their regards on Wednesday following the exciting announcement.

Gomez and Blanco began dating in June 2023 after teaming up for the 2019 single “I Can’t Get Enough” featuring Tainy and J Balvin.

In August 2023, Gomez then released the Blanco-produced single “Single soon,” before confirms their relationship December, where she liked fan account posts on Instagram of the couple and even commented: “He is my absolute everything in my heart,” on one.

The couple made their red carpet debut debut in 2024 Emmys in January, before Gomez spoke with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe sore their relationship the following month.

“Without going into too much detail, I think it’s really important to meet someone who respects you,” she said. “I think it’s really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world I live in. But I wanted to say that in general it’s the safest I feel and it’s been really nice, and I’ve only grown through it, so that’s great.”

In May, Blanco teased that he could see marriage in the future when he was asked about Gomez during an interview on The Howard Stern Show.

“When I look at her … I’m always like, I don’t know a world where it could be better than this,” he said at the time.
