Purdue football blown out by Indiana

BLOOMINGTON – There’s good news, Purdue football fans.

The 2024 season is over.

Sorry for your three months of misery.

With a 66-0 loss to No. 10 Indiana at Memorial Stadium Boilermakers can start planning for 2025.

With whom remains to be seen.

Purdue football buried early

Here are the first half stats that explain exactly how the Boilermakers finished 1-11.

Purdue was shut out Saturday in the first half for the fifth time this season. The Boilermakers finished 2024 without a first-quarter touchdown against 11 FBS opponents.

Purdue was outscored 104-13 in the first quarter and 236-53 in the first half after Indiana led 28-0 at halftime Saturday.

Sour second half

The second half began with a new quarterback, but the results were no better.

A fumbled pass exchange from Ryan Browne to Devin Mockobee on the first play was recovered by Indiana and led to a field goal.

Indiana continued to attack and even faked a punt for an 18-yard gain while leading 38-0 late in the third quarter. Purdue failed to reach triple digits in total yards and turned the ball over four times.

Unknown aftermath

Speculation about the future of Ryan Walters as head coach began several weeks ago.

As the losses piled up, many of them became lopsided, the voices of the frustrated fanbase grew louder.

The Boilermakers lost three members of their 2025 recruiting class this week, for a total of eight waivers from the group as a whole. The early signing period for football begins
