Raphinha after Barcelona’s defeat to Las Palmas: ‘We are doing many things wrong’

Raphinha says there are “a lot of things” Barcelona are doing wrong after his side’s 2-1 home defeat to Las Palmas.

The Brazil international’s goal, his 14th of the campaign and player-of-the-match performance was not enough to prevent Barcelona from falling to defeat.

Goals from former Barcelona striker Sandro Ramirez and on-loan Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva secured a surprise win for the away side.

“We (Barcelona) have done badly,” Raphinha said after the match. “We’re lowering the bar for what we were doing. We have to keep working.

“There are many things we do wrong. We have to turn things around on Tuesday (against Mallorca). I’m angry, I don’t care about my goal.”

Despite Barcelona’s dip in form, Raphinha continues to have an impressive season for the Spanish side.

The 27-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions this campaign, and is second in La Liga’s top scorer list behind team-mate Robert Lewandowski.

The defeat at Las Palmas is the third game in a row Barcelona have failed to win in the league, having lost at Real Sociedad on 10 November and squandered a two-goal lead to draw against Celta Vigo on 16 November.

The result gives second-placed Real Madrid a chance to gain more ground on the league leaders.

Madrid, who are four points behind Barcelona with two games remaining, face Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.
