Local businesses gear up for Small Business Saturday, a crucial day for local shops

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Some local businesses are gearing up for one of their busiest days of the year, Small Business Saturday.

The annual event encourages people to shop local during the holiday season and is an important boost for mom and pops in your community.

Lexie & Lee on Main Street is one of the participating businesses.

They say it’s their busiest day of the year and they’ve been preparing for months.

“You might want to get here early, do all your shopping early before the crowds get big, but it’s always a really friendly and locally based atmosphere,” said Aidan Daniel, the assistant manager of the store.
