First warning in place Saturday morning for the first snow of the season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Saturday brings an initial warning for the first measurable chance of snow of the season. For most, a dusting to 1″ of snow will be possible, but east of the metro, larger amounts of 1″ to 3″ of snow will be possible.

Along with the chance of rain tonight, cloud cover will be abundant throughout the KCTV5 region. Low temperatures will drop into the mid-20s to start Saturday.

The chance of snow showers will begin after midnight around 2/3 on Saturday and will last until around noon Saturday. However, the most important timeline for accumulation of snow chances will be between approx. 5 in the morning and noon. A few lingering showers may be possible after lunchtime, but there will be little or no further accumulation. We will see cloud cover slowly fall in the afternoon and partly cloudy skies should arrive in the evening.

We will see a dry weather pattern and a steady warming in temperatures for the first half of next week before another cold front moves through on Thursday.
