Hoka Clifton 9 hit a new personal best (price)

There’s no shortage of epic Black Friday fitness deals – smartwatches, running shoes, etc. – and this one from Hoka is no exception. The Hoka Clifton 9, literally the most popular running shoe in the entire world, is getting its lowest price ever, thanks to everyone’s favorite shopping holiday (Black Friday for those who don’t own a calendar or ever see the light of day).

In our fitness writer Tanner Bowden’s quest to log miles around the globe, he’s found every iteration of the Clifton to be top notch. “For daily miles, the Clifton is hard to beat,” Bowden wrote in our roundup of the best Hoka shoes. He’s taken these neutral runners on pretty much every kind of run, whether it was recovery days, long-distance haulers, or even a 15-miler on the trail, where the idea for Hoka was born.

Cliftons, and Hoka in general, are all about pillow comfort. These have a stack height of 40 millimeters, 3 millimeters higher than before, while being lighter than any previous model. The result is a soft landing, while responsive foam helps keep you moving with minimal effort. For $145, you could do a lot worse than the Clifton 9, and at their retail price of $116, you’d be missing out on a chance to run on clouds.
