Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders puts world on notice by unleashing three-way Buffs freshman in blowout of Oklahoma State

Travis Hunter has been making waves this year as perhaps the most dominant two-way player since, well, Colorado football coach Deion. But what many don’t know is that the Buffs have found themselves with a three-way player.

The best part? He’s just a redshirt freshman.

Travis Hunter’s performance has been unprecedented this year. Coach Prime remarked that he probably “fooled the Heisman” during his press conference on Friday. The two-way athlete has little competition on that front; Except for Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, who, despite crushing records, probably won’t even come close in terms of votes for Hunter.

In Hunter’s shadow, however, a new threat has emerged: Colorado’s first three-way player, Isaiah Hardge; who flew a bit under the radar this year, but is undoubtedly a name to remember.

Recruited as a wide receiver, the redshirt freshman saw significant snaps at receiver, corner and special teams in the Buffaloes’ 52-0 win over Oklahoma State.

This raises several questions: First, will Coach Prime continue to allow Hardge to play on three sides of the ball? We’ve seen fatigue issues plague Travis Hunter in his Heisman season, so adding a third aspect to this game could cause even more problems.

Furthermore, Hardge will rise to the occasion and become the next hunter after the no. 12 is the draft? Hunter is widely believed to be an incredibly high draft pick this year, if not the very first pick, so these are incredibly big shoes to fill.

If anyone can, though, it’s a Coach Prime recruit.

Hardge, although a footnote in a press conference now, is certainly a name to remember. The redshirt freshman still has many years ahead of him, and no shadow to live under.
