PayPal tests honey on Black Friday after $4 billion acquisition

Black Friday, this time, is a special day for PayPal (NASDAQ:PYPL) to test its newly acquired Honey; a browser extension and mobile app to help its users find discount coupons.

Earlier this week, PayPal announced its expensive $4 billion purchase to buy Honey, the browser extension and mobile app that will give PayPal tons of data about how customers search for products and what coupons they use when checking out their carts.

The data obtained will play a crucial role in being the ultimate payment processor, allowing PayPal to enter into more partnerships with more retailers and brands.

Currently, PayPal already has 300 million users, and Honey will help PayPal see what items its users are searching for and want to buy, and at what price it will ultimately get them to check out. The data will enable PayPal to convince merchants that it can help them better understand customers related to what product at what price people want.
