Egg Bowl: Live updates, scores, highlights

Miss Ole need some craziness this week to crack the 12 team College football playoff. But before the Rebels can worry about seeding and making the postseason, they have to win Egg bowl and get through Mississippi State.

The rivalry started in 1901 and has been played every year since 1944, with Ole Miss winning three of the last four. The Rebels lost last week in Florida. Ole Miss is ranked no. 14 in the College Football Playoff rankings and is 8-3 and needs Vanderbilt to upset Tennessee and for Penn State or Indiana to lose. Alabama ranked ahead of them in the CFP rankings at No. 13.

Mississippi State is 2-9 and has yet to pick up an SEC win Jeff Lebby’s first year in Starkville. But anything can happen in the Egg Bowl.

The Egg Bowl, traditionally played on Thanksgiving night, was moved to Black Friday this year. Mississippi State at Ole Miss starts at 3:30 PM ET on ABC.
