Jodie Turner-Smith talks about outing with her and Joshua Jackson’s daughter

Jodie Turner-Smith didn’t want to wait for her daughter to see Evil.

With the film adaptation captivating fans in cinemas, Queen & Slim star revealed that she recently took her and ex Joshua jackson’p 4-year-old daughter Juno to see The Wizard of Oz prequel on Broadway.

“Look, I know she’s kind of young,” Jodie explained further The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon 26 November, “but I just wanted to Evil is now being in the zeitgeist in a completely different way, now that Cynthia Erivo undoubtedly killed this performance. And I just thought, ‘I just need her to take her in the play before the movie.'”

She also admitted that Juno had a lot of questions since she hadn’t even seen it The Wizard of Oz yet.

“I just love Evil so much and it’s my favorite musical,” the 38-year-old explained of his decision to take his daughter. “I love it. I was eager. I was eager. I wasn’t the only one with a 4½-year-old in there.”

For Jodie who married Dawson’s Creek alum in 2019 before filing for divorce in 2023, motherhood has been a gift in every facet of her life.

“Honestly, my favorite thing about myself is that I’m that girl’s mom,” she continued Today with Hoda & Jenna in June. “I’m just so thankful that she chose me to be her mom, that I got that gift in life. That’s my favorite thing. It’s an honor.”

“I feel like it was our birthright to mother — whether we bring our children or not, I think that’s a woman’s birthright,” she continued. “We have space for them around us. It’s shifted everything about me. It’s only enriched me. It’s shown me, No. 1, how powerful I am. Like, whoa! Supreme Being!”

While Jodie and Joshua are no longer together, they are After Yang actress knows that having an amicable co-parenting dynamic is crucial.

“It’s an adjustment period for anyone when they separate because you’re used to being with your child all the time,” she said. Glamour last month. “But no one hands you a manual. “He can do what he wants,” she remarked. “Just be good to Juno and be good to Juno’s mother because I’m going to be Juno’s mother forever. It’s really not for me to have an opinion on his journey.”
