Love Island’s Laura Anderson surprisingly reveals how she met her new footballer boyfriend after Gary Lucy split

LAURA Anderson has revealed the surprising way she met her new footballer boyfriend Clark Robertson.

The Love Island star, who shares 14-month-old daughter Bonnie with ex-boyfriend Gary Lucy, said she is a happy lady and has “no complaints” about her new Scottish beau.

Laura, 35, said Clark slipped into her DMs three years ago but she ignored it at the time – and only decided to respond this year.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Laura said: “I didn’t make it public for a little bit but we’ve been together for a bit. It’s niceit’s chilled, no drama, just simple. A good Scottish lad, I can’t complain.

“I was going to the sun, but I think I’ll stay in cold Scotland. My little baba, she wants to be with the family, we are keeping it simple this year.

“It’s not very romantic, he messaged me online and I saw it about three years later and replied and here we are.”

Laura admitted Clark is different from her other exes and guys she’s dated in the past – and said she’s in it for the long haul.

The smitten star gushed at the 2024 Beauty Awards: “He’s kind and patient and normal and beautiful and he makes me laugh.”

When asked about marriage would be in the cards, the TV beauty replied flexibly: “It’s going pretty well.”

Laura also praised her new boyfriend for stepping up and being a great support to her and her daughter Bonnie.

She shared: “Really good, really helpful, I need all the help I can get, she’s a bit terrifying at the moment and she’s got such a big personality which is great but a lot to deal with.

“She’s 14 months going on 14. She’s so funny, so excited, she keeps me on my toes, but I’m cranky.”

Joking that her toddler is slowly turning into a “mini Laura” with her energetic bubbly personality, she said: “My mum keeps saying she’s just like you and I’m like ‘fair enough’.”

She’s a bit of a daredevil, I will

Laura said she will treat her little one to a slide at Christmasand says that the youngster is a little “daredevil” and likes to “throw around”.

Speaking about Bonnie’s Hollyoaks star dad Gary, Laura said she wasn’t sure if he would see them at Christmas, before adding: “No, we’re not co-parents, I’m looking after her.”

Last month, Laura packed on the PDA with Clark for a £700-a-night break.

Laura went on the run with the Dundee central defense to a five-star hotel, Gleneagles.

Mum-of-one Laura shared a series of snaps from their trip with the caption: “That time we had a night off.”

In a cheeky shot, the radio host clung to her Scottish hunk and wrapped a leg around him as she smiled away.

A topless Clark beamed from ear to ear as he posed with Laura as they enjoyed each other’s company.

Laura revealed her new husband’s identity in October and shared the exciting news with her loyal army of followers, saying: “Happy Friday.”

Last month, a smoking Laura hit out at Gary when he posted a cute clip with Bonnie.

She wrote: “Instead of posting videos of the one time you saw your daughter this year, please reply to my text from two weeks ago, that would be great.”

Laura also accused him of not seeing her daughter for six months.

After a follower asked if Bonnie “ever saw her dad”, Laura replied: “Do you mean her dad has seen her…

“No, he hasn’t since January 2nd, if you’d like to direct these questions to him, as I have no control over the actions of others.”

The reality TV favorite and Gary met and fell in love on Celebs Go Dating and after a whirlwind romance announced they were expecting.

But they called things off shortly after sharing the news, reuniting and splitting again.

She was also in a relationship with nineties pop star Dane Bowers before the relationship ended.
