US stock markets will close early on Friday, November 29 after being completely closed on Thursday, November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange are both closed on Thanksgiving and will reopen on November 29, but close down early at 1 p.m. ET. The US bond market will also be closed on Thursday and is scheduled to close at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, according to The securities industry and the Financial Markets Association.

After closing for the Thanksgiving holiday and closing early on Black Friday, it will be business as usual on Wall Street until the end of December. The next all-day market closure is on Wednesday 25 December on the occasion of Christmas. The markets are also scheduled to close early on Christmas Eve.

The US Stock Market 2024 Holiday Plan

The US stock markets will be closed on the following days in 2024:

  • Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 28 (markets also close at 1:00 PM ET on November 29)
  • Christmas: Wednesday, December 25 (markets also close at 1:00 PM ET on December 24)
