Costco just recalled more than 10,000 cartons of eggs due to potential salmonella contamination

Attention Costco customers, there is an active recall of approximately 10,800 retail units of 24 count organic grass-fed eggs sold under the Kirkland Signature brand, according to the US Food & Drug Administration. This is due to potential Salmonella pollution.

According to the FDA report, the eggs were sold in 25 stores in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee as of November 22, 2024. So far, no illnesses have been reported.

The affected eggs are 24-count organic grass-fed eggs sold in a plastic egg carton marked with the Kirkland Signature. The eggs are marked with UPC 9661910680, have a Julian code of 327 and a use by date of January 6, 2025.

If you have any of the affected eggs in your refrigerator, return them to Costco for a refund or dispose of them immediately.

Salmonella infection (also known as salmonellosis) can cause symptoms including diarrhoea, fever, stomach cramps, headache, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. Symptoms may be more severe in people 65 years of age or older, immunocompromised people, or in young children. If you experience any of these signs after eating the affected eggs, contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible.
