Viewership for the show was massive last season, in part due to the arrival of Pat McAfee and Nick Saban.

And the success has carried over into the new season, whose numbers ESPN shared on their socials.

Week 12’s live broadcast from Athens averaged a whopping two million viewers.

Figures for the final hour of the show were even higher, with 2.6 million football fans tuning in.

But the show peaked with 2.9 million viewers during its broadcast.

The show has averaged 2.1 million viewers so far this season and is on track for its best campaign ever.

However, the success is not just due to the recent additions of McAfee and Saban.

Longtime stars Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, Rece Davis and Kirk Herbstreit have all played their roles with great on-air dynamism.

However, Corso’s future remains a point of discussion following his recent return from a health scare.

The 89-year-old was forgetful at times during the Week 8 broadcast from the University of Texas.

And his troubling appearance prompted dozens of NFL and College Football fans to urge the veteran broadcaster to call it a day.

One wrote on X: “I’ll say it.

“You HAVE to get him off the show. He means too much to everyone’s nostalgia, childhood and really college football fandom in general.

“Get Pat to put on a Corso head and pay tribute to him every weekend.

Another said: “I think you let the headgear go when the Corso goes.”

And another said: “Time for him to retire. What a run.”
