Here’s how to watch the Longhorns in Week 13

Texas controls its destiny in the SEC right now with a 9-1 record and a 5-1 conference record. They will try to improve that record vs. Kentucky.

game

Texas football plays its final home game of the season on Saturday, when Kentucky visits Austin for the first time since 1951.

The Longhorn control their postseason destiny with a 9-1 record and a 5-1 SEC record. Securing a spot in the conference title game requires Texas to win. A loss to Kentucky or to Texas A&M two weeks from now would open up complex tiebreaker scenarios that could jeopardize Texas’ College Football Playoff chances.

This could also be the last home game for several Texas players. Some, such as Kelvin Banks Jr., Isaiah Bond and Cameron Williams, are expected to be early-round NFL draft picks in 2025. Others could return to school to boost their draft stock. Quarterback Quinn Ewers was noncommittal when asked Monday if he would play his last game in DKR.

Although the Wildcats live in the basement of the SEC, they have struggled mightily against a few top teams this season. Kentucky narrowly lost to Georgia 13-12 earlier this year, and it stung Miss Ole 20-17 in Week 5. With the Aggies looming, this matchup has all the makings of a trap game – will the Longhorns get caught?
