  • A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 18 to hear arguments to dismiss the lawsuit.

Jaden Rashada’s lawsuit against Florida football coach Billy Napier, Florida Gators booster Hugh Hathcock and former UF employee Marcus Castro-Walker took another trip on Friday.

According to one On3.com reportA hearing in the Rashada case is scheduled for December 18 in US District Court to hear oral arguments on several motions to dismiss the case.

Rashada filed the suit against Napier, Hathcock and Castro-Walker in May, claiming he was defrauded by being lured to sign with UF over promises that the $13.8 million deal would go through. It also names Hathcock’s company, Velocity Automotive, as a defendant.

In the motion to dismiss, Napier’s attorneys argue that the lawsuit did not provide evidence the coach knew about the contract between Rashada, his NIL agents and the now-defunct Gator Collective.

Rashada signed a letter of intent to play at Florida in December 2022, but was released a month later. After signing and playing at Arizona State in 2023, Rashada signed with Georgia, where he is third on the depth chart behind Carson Beck and Gunner Stockton.
