Indiana HC calls Alabama football’s schedule

Indiana Football head coach Curt Cignetti defended his team’s strength plan in going after Alabama.

Cignetti and the Hoosiers are undefeated ahead of a matchup with Ohio State. They are in the College Football Playoff picture but have been cut some slack due to their strength of schedule.

The Indiana head coach recently denied those claims.

“The schedules are set years in advance,” Cigetti said. “Alabama played Mercer. Georgia played Chattanooga. Right? The schedule is what it is. We’ve beaten seven Power Four teams. Every one of those teams had a winning record when we played them, except two were at .500. We beat them defending national champions in Michigan and number two. We’ve beaten all of our opponents except for Michigan. We didn’t even trail until two weeks ago 10-0 at Michigan State in the first quarter and rattled off 47 straight.”

Alabama takes on Oklahoma on the road Saturday as the No. 7 ranked teams in the current College Football Playoff rankings.
