‘The Talk’ hosts disagree on Sabrina Carpenter’s sexual content at concerts: ‘Know your audience’

Sabrina is a carpenter leaves a big impression on the stage, but not everyone has been positive towards the parents.

The whole American leg of her Short ‘N Sweet Tour which wrapped last weekend, Carpenter, 25, made waves for her risqué outfits — including bedazzled lingerie — and suggestive lyrics and choreography. While singing “Juno,” Carpenter even pantomimes a sex position at one point.

Carpenter, a former Disney Channel star, has a number of young fans who are eager to attend the shows, but it turns out that many of their parents are often shocked by certain moves. Jenna Dewanfor example recently shared Instagram footage of herself covering 11-year-old daughter Everly’s eyes during “Juno” at one of the Los Angeles shows.

The online criticism reached The talk on a Thursday, November 21 clipwith the panelists disagreeing on whether Carpenter should have toned down her features to cater to younger audiences.

“You know, my kids just hit me up and said, ‘Hey dad, I want to go to this concert and can we go together?’ Oh, yeah, sure, and then they send me all the dates and I start looking at it, and it was like, Creator Tyler and Lil Yachty“, recalled Gbajabiamila, 45. “I’m like, ‘Who the hell is that?’ No disrespect to them, but I don’t know Tyler the Creator and Lil Yachty.”

“No parent remembers to Google what the artist is or who the artist is and what’s on their show,” the NFL alum explained. “I think there is a responsibility, especially if you know your audience. It would be like we come to this show knowing we have a certain demo and yet we’re saying something completely different than what our demo is looking for.”

He added, “We have a responsibility to know as entertainers to know your audience, right? You know, like, I’m not going to drop a Lil Yachty reference (on The talk) if our viewers are older, but I might drop one Bill Withers or something like that.”

Carpenter has not publicly addressed the backlash to her suggestiveness Short ‘N Sweet performances, but previously cited her songwriting as “authentic”.
