Shelter in place ordered at the Fairleigh Dickinson University campus in Florham

A shelter in place is in effect on the Fairleigh Dickinson University campus in Florham amid reports of a person with a gun, the school announced.

At 10:45 p.m., FDU tweeted: “Police are investigating an incident on the Florham Campus.”

At 10:59 p.m., the school announced that the shelter was in place, adding: “Stay inside the building away from windows and doors. If outside, take shelter immediately. Stay in place until all-clear message is sent via FDU Alert System.

At 11:29 p.m., the FDU stated that the shelter is still in place and that “Police on patrol are looking for a person who may be in possession of a gun.”
